Stillward Display

Switch between speakers and headset with one key

A call is starting and the sound is still on the speakers. Here is how to move it to the headset with one key - and send a single app to other speakers when you need to.

Doing it by hand

On Windows 11, Win + Ctrl + V opens the list of sound outputs; on Windows 10 it is the speaker icon in the taskbar. Either way it is a menu and a click, the moment before a call, and again afterwards.

The sound as part of a desk

In Stillward Display, a desk is a named setup with a key of its own, and it can carry a sound output. Make a “Calls” desk with the headset and the call window where you like it, and a “Work” desk with the speakers. One key switches the windows and the sound together.

A preset can do the same when an app opens: when the call app starts, the sound moves to the headset, and when it closes, the sound goes back.

Just one app on other speakers

One key opens a small panel over any window. From there, send that one app to other speakers or the headset, turn it down, or mute it - while everything else plays where it was.
